Apple Orchard Inn Durango Cottages

A brief word in general about the guest rooms and cottages at our Rocky Mountain bed and breakfast. All lodging accommodations have a private bath, a vanity with a second sink outside of the bath, featherbeds and luxurious comforters. Each guestroom is decorated uniquely, but all rooms have an armoire and comfortable seating and lighting, including lighting beside the beds for reading. Also, all rooms and cottages have telephones and televisions, some with video tape players.

Rome Beauty [photo]
A river rock fireplace dominates this room, with a king-size bed, two wingback chairs, and with a whirlpool bathtub in its private bath.

JonaGold [photo]
A sunny quiet room with views over the old apple orchard and looking westward to the cliffs of the Animas Valley, this room has a queen-size bed, loveseat sleeper-sofa, and a wicker chair.

Granny Smith [photo]
This east-facing room enjoys beautiful views over the inn’s gardens and ponds and looks to the eastern cliffs and mountains. Queen-size bed, loveseat sleeper-sofa, and wicker chair.

McIntosh [photo]
This is on the north side of the main house, therefore, the coolest room in the summer months, with views to the north mountains . King-size bed, two wingback chairs and a wicker chair.

Our private cottage rentals are perfect for your Colorado honeymoon or romantic getaway. All the cottages have open-beam construction and have private covered porches with swings and/or rocking chairs facing into the central pond and garden area.

Fireside [photo]
Our most romantic cottage, this cottage has a cozy English feel to it with a king-size pencil-post four poster bed, loveseat sofa in front of a woodburning fireplace, and French doors leading out to a private patio by the pond. The bath includes a two-person whirlpool bath tub.

Cortland [photo]
Bright, sunny and outdoorsy describes this cottage. The most spacious of the cottages, the Cortland is furnished with a king-size canopy bed, cherry wood furniture, including a writing desk and comb-back chair, full-length sofa and a woodburning fireplace. The bath includes a whirlpool bathtub.

Liberty [photo]
This romantic cottage is furnished with all cherry wood furniture, including a queen-size cherry sleigh bed and a writing desk and stool. Enjoy the gas-log fireplace with its green Italian marble surround from the loveseat sofa. The bath has a two-person whirlpool tub, and there are French doors leading out to a private patio with views to the north mountains.

Wolf River [photo]
This cottage has beautiful views of the full length of the garden and to the west cliffs of the valley. Furnished with oversized wicker easy chairs, a king bed, gas log fireplace and a private hot tub on the patio.

Prairie Spy [photo]
Relax in the bay window seat with a good book or on the front porch in the rocking chair watching the ducks coming and going between the ponds. This cottage has a loveseat sleeper-sofa and a queen-size bed

Red Baron [photo]
A very special cottage which also happens to have ADA (Americans with Disability Act) compliance. The large, fully tiled bathroom has an oversized shower with a built-in bench and hand-held shower head. There is a queen-size bed and wicker rocking chair in the bedroom. Perhaps the most attractive features of this cottage are the back patio and the lovely little waterfall just outside the bedroom window!

• All holiday and holiday week/weekends are considered high season.

• All rates are based on double occupancy.

• For each additional guest add $25 per night.

• All rates include a full hearty breakfast and afternoon refreshments -- including our freshly baked Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Reservations are suggested. However, last minute openings may be available. A deposit is required and is equal to 50% of your total reservation. One night reservations will require full advance payment. Your deposit is due within 7 days of making your reservation. If your plans change, the Apple Orchard Inn will be pleased to make a refund provided we receive at least 3 weeks’ notice before your scheduled arrival date or we are able to re-rent all rooms nights. There is a $20 or 5% handling fee per room, whichever is higher, for all cancellations. Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of their actual arrival or departure date.

• Please, NO PETS (We have a resident golden retriever dog and a ragdoll cat,
  plus ducks!)

• While children are allowed, we do ask families with children under 8 years of age to stay in a cottage.

• There is NO SMOKING anywhere indoors. If you would like to smoke outside, we will provide an ashtray if requested.

• Check-in time is between 4 and 7 p.m. or by special arrangement

• Check-out time is by 11 a.m.
