The Apple Orchard Inn is a unique Durango, Colorado, Bed and Breakfast set in the beautiful Animas Valley 8 miles north of Durango at Hermosa. Lined with fruit orchards and historic farms, County Road 203 leads you to the Apple Orchard Inn. You will enter the 4 1/2 acre property on a drive that takes you through the orchard to the Inn, a large, farmhouse-style home with four guest rooms and six quaint country cottages.

Kathi Clamp, owner/innkeeper, will welcome you into the warmth of her elegant home. In the main house, the sitting room is furnished with comfortable furniture, has a river rock fireplace, and original artwork. Exposed beams, large windows and Brazilian cherry wood floors grace the first floor.

In the dining room or on the patio, a full hearty breakfast is served to you each morning while you enjoy the views of the surrounding cliffs and mountains and watch the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train as it steams by. Breakfast, prepared by Kathi, changes daily and includes delicious breakfast entrees served with home-baked breads. Of course, afternoon refreshments and snacks are served daily, including fresh homemade cookies.

Published January 2002, "The Unofficial Guide to Bed & Breakfasts and Country Inns in the Rockies - 1st Edition" by Kim Lipker, a new book in the Frommer's Travel Guide Series gave the Apple Orchard Inn Five Stars in all categories (only four inns had this distinction!)

February 2000, Sunset Magazine included the Apple Orchard Inn as one of "24 Great B&Bs for Warmth, Comfort and Romance."

June 6, 1999, The Denver Post selected Apple Orchard Inn as Colorado's Best Bed and Breakfast.

In the 1997, the Inn was designated "New, Large Inn of the Year for Colorado" by the Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers of Colorado contest, based on guest response, judged by Doris Kennedy, author of the column "Inn for the Night" which appeared regularly in the Denver Post.
